Ashiatsu is a style of massage where Robi uses her feet — rather than hands, elbows, or knuckles — to apply deep, broad pressure along the muscles and fascia. Because feet cover more surface area than hands, the pressure feels smoother and more evenly distributed, making it possible to work deeply without the sharp or pokey sensation some people associate with deep tissue massage. Many clients describe it as the most relaxing deep work they've ever experienced.
-
Robi tailors every session to your specific needs, so you don't have to figure it out on your own. As a general guide: if you're dealing with chronic tension, pain patterns, or sports injuries, deep tissue or Ashiatsu barefoot massage are great options. If your primary goal is stress relief and nervous system reset, a relaxation massage is ideal. For restricted movement or stubborn areas of tightness, fascia release therapy may be the best fit. Robi will work with you to design the right approach.
-
Not in Robi's hands. While deep tissue work does involve firm pressure to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia, Robi's approach is to work with your body — not force it. She combines neuromuscular therapy and positional release techniques to relieve tension more effectively and comfortably than brute pressure alone. You may feel some intensity in tight areas, but the goal is always pain relief, not pain during the session. Communication is encouraged throughout.

Yes — Robi has nine years of experience working with musculoskeletal issues, compensation patterns, and chronic pain. Using her anatomy knowledge and intuition, she works to identify and address the root cause of discomfort rather than just treating surface-level symptoms. Whether you're recovering from a sports injury, dealing with postural tension, or living with ongoing pain, she creates a personalized treatment plan to help your body heal from the outside in.
-
Before your session, stay hydrated and avoid a heavy meal in the hour prior. Let Robi know about any injuries, areas of concern, or pressure preferences when you arrive. After your massage, drink plenty of water to help flush out what was released in the tissues, and give your body time to rest if possible — especially after deeper work. It's normal to feel some mild soreness the next day, similar to a good workout, which typically resolves within 24–48 hours.
